Dose is the Rat that forms when someone tries to fix themselves through fragments. It emerges when every feeling demands a cure, every mood needs a supplement, and every imbalance has a pill waiting to correct it. Its head is split into faces, each one representing a different version of the self. The calm one, the anxious one, the tired one, the hopeful one, all competing for control. Inside its skull sits a chaotic heap of capsules, tablets, boosters, balancers, stabilisers, destroyers. The promise of clarity packed in plastic and colour coding. But Dose never knows which version of itself is real. Which pill is helping. Which pill is harming. Which pill is simply keeping the others quiet.

When Dose is still, the confusion thickens, the capsules rattle, the identities blur, the faces shift. But when the body moves, when breath deepens, when muscles work and blood warms… The pills settle. The noise calms. The many faces begin to merge.

Dose isn’t addicted to the substances. It’s addicted to the hope that one of them might finally make things simple.
